Open the official Taj Mahal visitor site, choose its ticketing section and follow the linked ASI/Agra Circle route. Verify the address at each step before payment. This website provides travel planning and is not the official monument ticket seller. Your private tour or transport enquiry is separate from an official admission transaction.

Select the monument, date, visitor category, people and required access, then check the final terms and ticket instructions. Keep the confirmation available offline. If payment is unclear, use the booking authority’s support and payment-status guidance before trying again; a transport confirmation does not settle a monument ticket issue.

Taj Mahal tickets for foreigners, Indians and children

The official fee table separates Indian, foreign/NRI and SAARC/BIMSTEC categories. Follow its current eligibility wording and document requirements. OCI, citizenship and residence questions should be confirmed with the ticket authority rather than guessed from a hotel address.

The official visitor page currently states that children below 15 do not pay an entry fee. Recheck this rule for your date and ask how children should be represented in the booking. Do not send passport scans or child identity documents through a general travel enquiry form. Carry the required documents for the actual admission or rail process.

Taj Mahal visiting hours and Friday closure

The official FAQs describe daytime visiting from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes before sunset. This is not a fixed year-round clock time. The ticketing page gives separate counter timings. Follow the actual ticket and current authority directions if these differ from a general guide.

The Taj Mahal Friday closure must be checked before booking hotels or train seats. Reorder the Agra night or visit on another day. A sunrise visit generally works more comfortably from an Agra stay than from a rushed same-morning departure from Delhi. Separate night viewing is outside this daytime guide and has its own rules.

Taj Mahal entry gates, walking and access

Confirm the current East or West Gate approach with your local pickup contact. The official visitor information identifies the South Gate as exit-only at present. Agree where the vehicle drops you and where you meet after the visit; do not assume door-to-monument vehicle access.

Allow for parking-to-gate movement, security, walking and a rest break. A planning allowance of roughly three hours for the visit and approach is useful for many visitors, but crowds, access needs and photography can require longer. Ask the authority about current wheelchair arrangements and step-free options; do not treat a vehicle booking as an accessibility guarantee.

Pack lightly and keep your Agra plan realistic

Check the official prohibited-items list before leaving the hotel. Drones and tripods are prohibited, large bags can delay security, and photography inside the main mausoleum is prohibited. Leave unnecessary items in a secure agreed storage arrangement. Follow staff instructions on the day.

Choose the Taj Mahal as the main visit, allow a meal and treat Agra Fort as an additional separately ticketed visit if the real day permits. For rail travel, protect the return station buffer and check the actual train. For a road trip, allow the complete hotel-to-gate-and-back day rather than comparing only highway travel.
